The science

How it works

Passive heat from an infrared sauna raises core temperature, and the gentle cool-down afterward is associated in published research with easier sleep onset. Red and near-infrared light is absorbed by cells through photobiomodulation and is studied for its role in supporting cellular energy and recovery. The quiet, private environment matters too: most of our clients describe sessions as the calmest part of their week.

Passive heat
Warm-up then cool-down is linked to easier sleep onset
Red light
No blue wavelengths, so evening sessions won't disrupt sleep
Quiet & private
Every session is in your own room, phone off, no rush
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time of day for a session if I want better sleep?

Late afternoon or early evening works well for most clients. The natural cool-down after a heat session helps signal the body to wind down. We will suggest timing in your plan.

How quickly will I notice a difference?

Many clients feel noticeably calmer after their first session and report easier sleep within the first two weeks. Steadier energy and mood tend to build over 6–12 weeks.

Is this a treatment for anxiety or insomnia?

No. We are a wellness studio, not a medical provider, and we do not diagnose or treat conditions. Many clients use sessions as part of a healthy routine. If you are struggling with sleep or stress, please also talk to your doctor.

What is the Cocoon Aqua Pod?

A private pod with vitamin-infused steam, radiant heat, aromatherapy and gentle vibration. Clients describe it as a full sensory reset.

Can I use red light at night?

Yes. Red light does not contain the blue wavelengths associated with disrupting sleep, and many clients enjoy an evening session.

How much does it cost?

Every plan is built around your goals in a complimentary consultation, where we walk through options in person. There is no obligation.

Heatwave Lux is a wellness studio, not a medical provider. Our sessions are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Individual results vary. Talk to your doctor before starting any new wellness routine, especially if you are pregnant or have a medical condition.
